Watched the Hobbyking video about connecting again, plugged the power lead from the board into the rx ch7 and I get few beeps, rx and LEDs light up.

tried to arm the quad but nothing happens

if I plug the power lead into the batt/bind slot on the rx same thing happens but rx flashes as though it's trying to bind

    close but no cigar......yet!

You will need to calibrate the ESCs before you'll be able to get them to arm, all the instructions are in the RCGroups thread I linked earlier.

Shouldn't matter which port you plug the power lead into, which receiver is it you are using?

Have a hunt through that linked thread, there is a procedure in there to calibrate all 4 ESC at the same time, that is the one you want.

It can take a few tries to get it right, but it does work, I used it myself when changing my Quanum over to Futaba.

Once you've done that, check that you have a non-GPS flight mode selected (e.g. Stabilize) then you should be able to arm successfully.

If you have a GPS related flight mode selected then the conditions for arming get more demanding and it will not arm without a good solid GPS lock.

Read plenty of threads and studied this one for a while but am having real difficulty in getting the Nova going.

I've got everything connected in the quad, rx bound, running mission planner, run the setup wizard and all good so far....

Mission planner sees the FC, when I tilt the quad forwards and backwards all good, but left to right is reversed on the horizon in MP??

Also I cannot for the life of me get the ESC calibration right. Tried for 3 hours yesterday, I have followed the steps by the book but when I enter 'calibration' mode with the throttle at max the ESCs do a 'do-re-me' tone then 1 beep - 2 beeps - 3 beeps - 4 beeps and a long beep, not like what happens in the vids

I've tried dropping throttle at each beep but still cant get it to arm.

All that happens is left LED flashes red and right LED stays out

Sorry if this has been asked before but I am completely stumped

Any help would be gratefully received ad I'd love to get it in the air

First, the horizon line is a little confusing if you are not used to that type of display.

As you bank left the horizon line will go up on the left and down on the right as it is showing you the horizon not the angle of the aircraft.

Before doing anything else, have you got the flight mode set to 'stabilize'. If that isn't right then all that follows will be different.

Connected to MP to check and I understand now, tilt quad to left and horizon moves up on left side

Flight mode is set to stabilize position 0, loiter is 1 and RTL is 2

I had to pay £43 for import and tax.

I am having great difficulty getting mine going, searched numerous threads to no avail. I'm sure that mine isn't the only one that wont calibrate!

Just contemplating whether to try another flight controller or stamp on it :O

No problems, the free shipping uses a courier, SCS, so you know up front you are going to have to pay VAT as the couriers pre-clear stuff for you. On the other-hand it does mean it tends not to get stuff in customs on the way through.

If you were a bit closer I'd offer to sort it for you, and yes you wouldn't alone in having problems.

Mine shipped as RTF so at least I knew it was all working before I swapped out the receiver.

One way or another you need to get the ESCs calibrated as I doubt you are going to get it to arm before that bit is done right.

Once they are calibrated you should be able to put it into stabilize mode and get it to arm.

Just out of interest, how are you trying to arm it?

Thanks Mark, Keep looking up as you might see a Nova powered my boot!

I'm going to try calibrating 1 by 1 tonight.

Arming, throttle is down and hold to right.

3 position mode switch is 0 stabilise, 1 loiter and 2 RTL, does that sound right?

                              All sounds fine.

I take it you can see the flight modes changing in the mission planner when you change them on the radio?

Also, stupid question I know, but you are disconnecting from the mission planner before trying to arm?

When arming I select 'stabilize' mode and wait for the green light to go solid so I know I have a GPS lock.

Then hold throttle down and right for about 3 seconds.

When I release the stick there will be a little dancing of the lights then you should see solid red and solid green lights and you are armed.

Modes change when I flick the switch in mission planner

                                Disconnected from PC

I have had the quad powered up sat on the table outside for 20mins and no green LED, I know theres satellites as Im a surveyor and can see 12+ on my kit

I really think I have a 'duff' model - no reply from Hobbyking customer service though!
