I thought you'd bought the new Spektrum Rx with PPM and SRXL?

You're asking for trouble trying to get a satellite to work. We tried with a Naze Rev6, only to fail and end up fitting an Orange RX with Sbus out after two rainy weekends of faffing.

Maybe the rev6A (first time I've heard of that btw) will fix it, so I'd try that first if yours is a Rev6a with the extra diode.

Hi

With the new spektrum Rx you need to connect it to the PPM input not the sat input on the Naze32 board. I will have a quick check...

Here is the pinout for PPM. Make sure you select PPM in the flight controller software too.

You need to install chrome on your iMac and then install the cleanflight software through the chrome app store.

Ok well its all done and it flies very well , plenty of power with 5045 props and the camera works brilliantly . Its very very strange to fly through the goggles and I hope I get used to it lol !
The battery only last about 4 mins max and that without going mad . Its a new 3s 1600mAh Optipower Racing Pack, should I be getting longer or is that about right ?????

The flight time doesn't sound too off to me, given that it's cold outside.

If you want better flight times, try some 6x4.5 props as you're running 3S. They'll be much more efficient at lower throttle.
Another potential prop is the HQ 5x4x3, if you can find them.

its been 6-8 weeks since you got airborne and I wondered how it is all going and what changes if any you'd make with some hours under your belt.

I'm just finishing off an emax nighthawk, maidened it a couple of days ago when my garden shed lept out at it and totalled a couple of propellers but what has prompted this question is a Scorpion Sky Strider 280 frame sat on my shelf just waiting to be built. I intend the Strider to be more general FPV flaying, not racing, and built around an APM 3.1 FC; it's confusing the heck out of me working out what motors I need. Your Scorpion motors at £40 a pop are too rich for me when I can get emax MT 2204-23000KVs for a quarter of that but will they work with all the extra weight?

So back to the original question of how did your scratch build work out?

I don't know much about the frame, other than it seems to have a high parts count, but can talk about the motors a little.

Now, the yellow ones are way over priced, and they aren't as good as the black ones. The black ones (M2205 2350KV stealth ) are cheaper - about £40 a pair - more powerful, but still aren't up there compared to what should be "lesser" motors in any tests I've seen. I'm talking here about the Emax RS2205 2300KV, which is the current thrust champion for a 2300kv motor, which is about £15 if bought in this country, and a little cheaper imported.

As for weight, it depends what you want out of a quad. If you aren't racing, then it's really not a concern. Your quad will normally have at least a 4:1 thrust:weight ratio on 4S, even if it's on the heavy side, so will be no slouch.

Thanks for the motor info. £15/pair seems a gift compared to some prices I've seen for other motors and that's as good as place as any to start populating my frame. As a complete aside just seen where you fly. I spent my first 16 year in Dronfield, small world.

been flying my strider for a few weeks now and its awesome, it handles crashes well and I have added the 10 degree motor mounts, to hover you need to keep the elevator back a bit but its fast , for the motors I went for the Xnova 2204-2300

Like Liamm said, I'd be looking at the Xnova motors from Fast Lads as they're really nice and not expensive at all. Well I did and bought the 2206's.
