Ahhh good Idea We'll see how it works for me shortly. When I can be bothered to take the pics and check the spares I have etc I'll be selling a BeltCP and Gaui EP100 with spares.

That was NOT a hint to start offers either lol. but It will be interesting to see how it works as Ive been here a while but never sold anything lol

Technicly that kind of post would be removed i assume, as it would attract a sale possibly by pm, but as you meet selling criteria im sure it wont be an issue!!

Good move Stuart, ive seen this in a lot of forums, and it seems to work well.

I think this is a great idea Stuart,as i said not so long ago that some people were using this site as if it was EBAY only to their advantage of not having to pay any posting fees! Its fair to say that this site is not just for SELLING as some members only do,but its a place for helping each other out aswell.

I would expect that normally it would. But as I play by the rules and stated I was not hinting for a sale, I would not take a pm for it just now.

The items are not ready for sale lol.

I think limiting access is a great idea although 50 posts can be, and have been, achieved really very quickly without really 'doing' anything. I know that striking the balance here must be really challenging yet I can't help but think that the limit should be more like 250 posts so that the trading facility is seen as a priveledge afforded to members who add value to the forum, things like taking registered addresses and such causes issues under the DPA that are best avoided IMHO.

Anyhoo, just thinking aloud. Thanks for all of the work you guys put in.

I was actually thinking that it was a bit high! I've been registered about 10 months but I've made less than 30 posts, and this is because there's usually people here that are way more knowledgeable than me who provide better answers than I am able to.

I totaly agree with J S Q, likewise I have only about 30 posts in the last year and only ask a question when I have exhausted old posts. This forum is of great value to me and its members have given me great help. I consider most people to be far more knowledgeable than myself although I would say that it seems that a lot of people reply to posts just because they are there and so have an artificially high post count. What is the point of a reply that just contains a smilie?
