  • Raptor 30 V2 Trainer Helicopter Bind and Fly

    Hi All,

I’ve got my trainer helicopter up for sale, Bind and Fly/Starter package

    Specification

    Thunder Tiger Raptor 30 V2
    OS32 SX-H Engine
    Zimmermann Exhaust
    Futaba GY401 Heading Hold Gyro
Futaba S9254 High Speed Digital Tail Servo
    Spektrum AR7000 7 channel 2.4GHz receiver
    Futaba S3101’s on throttle/aileron/elevator
    Hitec HS635HB on collective
Align 2in1 Voltage Regulator with onboard glow heater and Lipo voltage monitoring.
    7.4v 3000mAh Lipo flight battery
    Align RCE-G600 Governor
    Fibreglass Canopy
    Header Tank
Instruction Manuals for Raptor and most of the onboard electronics

My helicopter has been well looked after, the starter shaft bearings and main shaft bearings have been replaced with very high quality EZO Japanese bearings.

The mechanics are a great starter setup, the engine is a good starter even on really cold days, and the Zimmermann exhaust is very quiet, great for those long days at the field learning how to fly, 2ft off the deck!
The frames are the latest R30/R50 frames with the built in header tank mount, additional stiffening etc
Blades are 550mm wooden mains, with plastic tails, and plastic paddles. Currently set for +/-10 degree’s of collective pitch.
The heli has never been crashed; the only damage it has ever sustained is a bent flybar.
    It currently runs 12% Optifuel.

The electronics have been upgraded over time to the above spec, this is a brilliant setup, it gives long flight times with the big Lipo battery, onboard glow heating means you have one less battery pack to worry about charging and taking to the field, and the governor gives you a nice reliable head speed keeping the engine in its power band, it can of course be turned off with a flick of the aux 2 switch. The GY401/S9254 combo gives excellent tail authority.

Now, in the interests of honesty, I feel I need to mention a few things about the heli so that the buyer knows what he is buying, but I don’t feel they are deal breakers, especially given how cheap Raptor parts are.

    1) The sensor for the governor is very difficult to mount on the Raptor, not a great deal of positions for it near the clutch bell. As such it’s been epoxy’ed onto the frame. This is not a particularly pretty install with a big glob of epoxy, but it does work great. Basically, the problem is cosmetics, which I don’t think it too be a big deal on a practise helicopter like this.
    2) The engine has a 1mm deep nick in the exhaust flange, not sure how it happened but one day it was there. I filled it with chemical metal and it’s been perfect ever since without leaks and I have no doubt it will outlast the engine/helicopter, but its something I wanted to mention. It also has the back plate sealed with RTV sealant. But I have a gasket set for it and I’ll supply this with the helicopter.
    3) The canopy has some cracking on it, mainly around the front mounting holes. I originally didn’t use rubber grommets and bolted it hard to the heli, causing the cracking. It now has grommets and is no longer a problem. Again another cosmetic item with no effect on how the heli fly’s.

Collection is preferred, but I could post the heli, in order to post I may have to break it down a bit, probably removing the boom, blades, and maybe the undercarriage. If you are not happy with this then I’m afraid its collection only.

If you do collect, I will include a starter motor and field battery for free.
This will mean all you need is fuel, a fuel pump, wand, cheap 2S Lipo charger and a Spektrum compatible transmitter to be in the air.
If you have a Spektrum DX7 Handset, I can supply you with the settings so it should fly well straight out of the box

I’m looking for £290 which I feel is a good price considering the additional items on my heli (like Lipo, regulator, onboard glow, decent tail servo/gyro and governor) which are not usually supplied with training helicopters, and all these parts are transferable to your next model if you wish. Plus the engine/exhaust is the much better (and more expensive) OS/Zimmermann combo compared to the usual thunder tiger items.

    Delivery would be £15

Bank Transfer, Cheque, Paypal Gift or Cash on collection all ok. Helicopter will not be dispatched until payment has cleared.

Helicopter is based in Blackpool, North West UK.

If no interest I will break the model for parts, rebuild for airframe with cheaper stuff like Nimh batteries, standard glow adaptor etc

I think that’s everything, now for some pictures….

    Thanks

    Matt

Not sure Jake, i don't think i'd seperate the blades from the airframe anyway, they aren't expensive even new.

      Thanks
