    This ALIGN TREX 250 has been tuned up to be the best-flying heli we could make. It has had a large number of upgrades as follows.

    TAIL
    1) MKS DS95i Tail Servo. This superfast tail servo is one of the key things to getting the 250 tail flying perfectly. List price £60
    2) Microheli CNC Aluminium and Titanium tail. This upgrade has much less slop than the Align tail that comes on the original heli. The Titanium upgrade is no longer available and much of this tail is that version although some parts are aluminium. Would be approx £60 including shipping.
    3) Carbon Fibre Tail blades from Align.
    4) Fluoro yellow tail fins for greater visibility.
    5) Upgraded yellow tail belt for greater wear resistance.
    6) Weight in tail. The stock Trex 250 is always a bit nose heavy and so it does not pirouette well. You will see we have added a small tail weight of heat shrink and solder around the end of the tail. It looks neat and gives a perfect centre of gravity with the Optipower batteries.


    FLYBARLESS SYSTEM
    1) Spartan Vortex VX1E. One of the best upgrades to the Trex 250 is to improve the flybarless system. This heli has a VX1E. We have tried BeastX Plus, and 3GX but neither was as good as the Spartan at keeping this heli locked in. List Price £130
    2) Spektrum DSMX Satellite Included.


    POWER
    1) The standard ESC has been upgraded to a Castle Creations Talon 15 ESC. List price £30
    2) To achieve the best performance from a 250 you need high head speed and minimal bogging. This heli has been upgraded with a Scorpion HK11-2206-3900KV and 15t pinion. List price around £50.
    3) It comes with 3 x Optipower 850mAh 3S 30C batteries which are a good fit. They have been used and are a bit scruffy but are still performing well.
    4) We have upgraded the standard battery connectors to EC2 connectors.


    FRAME
    1) There is a flaw with the standard Align anti-rotation bracket. At extremes of rear elevator movement the swashplate link can become stuck. We have modified this bracket with lightweight strips of carbon fibre to prevent this happening.
    2) Some of the frame bolts have been upgraded to star drive bolts from the standard align ones. The bolts that hold the tail boom braces have been replaced with screws that have a greater thread.
    3) The tail servo has been mounted on the tail boom rather than the frame. It just seems to fly better and certainly helps give the optimum centre of gravity.

    A perfect set of align main blades and one other spare with a small chip.

    BIND TO SPEKTRUM
    This heli has been flown on a Spektrum DX7 radio and we have spent a lot of time getting it sorted. We can give you all the settings and would strongly advise using them to start with for optimum performance.


    CONDITION
    Everything that needs to work well does, however the canopy is has had a few prangs. If you want it to look great you might want to buy a new canopy! These are currently listed at £13
    We have used a bit of liquid heatshrink to make sure the power connectors are not at risk of shorting. Some of the fluoro paint on the tail fins has come off but it really makes no difference. There is a small crack in the plastic bottom of the frame. It is of no consequence and could easily be replaced.
