  • Spektrum DX7 battery options

    Hi all,

I decided to fire up an old Spektrum DX7 so that the youngest could play with a Blade Quad, but the battery is well knackered. It did charge but does not hold charge for very long (this is using the NiMh 1500mah pack).

I'm a bit loaved to bin it, so am looking for options. It seems that these batteries are no longer available, so it would seem some conversion would be necessary to Lipo or Life.

Has anyone experience of these and possible suggestions?

    Thanks

    Daz

    p.s. i haven't got to youtube yet

I recently fired up my DX7 and had the same issue. I have now fitted (without any need for modification) a HobbyKing Turnigy Nano-Tech 9.9v (3s) 2100mAh LiFe transmitter pack. The pack even comes with the correct connector fitted to fit the DX7. It was inexpensive and seems to be lasting really well so far.

Less than 10 quid and in the UK warehouse. Works perfectly in my old DX7.

Thanks everyone, the LiFe pack looks a good option.

Edit: Ordered and I had 63p of discount left from 4 years ago. Happy days

Hi guys, haven't posted in ages, I did the same myself and the battery above looks perfect. Trouble is the wall charger is wrecked also. I've opened it up and several components are wrecked. Any good options on a suitable wall charger or banana plug set that I could charge this battery with?

Unfortunately not, I treat it as I would a lipo and charge it outside using my PL8

Just contacted vapextech... He does a battery and an intelligent charger combo which automatically switches off at full charge, charges in the tx. 25 quid... Happy with that if it's that easy!

Sorry, my bad, just realized, battery will have to be removed to charge, nevertheless, it stops charging automatically.
