  • DX9 Power On (Orange Light) & Led Flicker on whilst TX is in Power Off!!!

    1) As the title, my DX9 has been at rest untouched laying on a table for a couple days, then today whilst walking past the Tx i noticed the power On light and the Led flicker on/off, this was just a few milliseconds and happened a few times over the next 30 minutes at random.
I switched on, all was normal.. i checked through system settings to look for any other faults or changes... all seamed ok. I disconnected / re connected the battery, still a few more flickers, after approx 30 minutes the flickering stopped, this flickering was whilst the TX was in OFF.

    2) The other issue is that the Led has gone ghost like appearance & txt is slow in function, this started and apparently according to HH Tech department, is common when Tx is being used in the cold weather, just that mine has not corrected itself once in the warm.
My TX will be sent to HH asap.

My Tx firmware was at 1.06, i check & found 1.07 and so updated. The Tx seams to be functioning ok, today i flew x5 flights.... x2 Warp & x3 180 CFX with no problems, has anyone else experienced anything like this with any Tx?

I've had the screen on my DX18 go off in very cold weather but I've never seen the flickering when turned off, nor has the sceen ever gone off when the Tx has been indoors.

    Very strange.

Forgot to bring my DX18 in from the motor last nigh, freezing night it was & seems fine this morning & wasn't in it case out of sight of cause so seems could well of been something else with your DX9.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

The screen still has the ghosting and is dull, the script when scrolling is slow too (indoors or out) but, everything else seams ok, i have been through the systems menu & checked calibration, done the range check and all seams ok at the moment (apart from the screen), i flew my 180CFX x5 packs today with no issues other than a dumb thumb moment.... wrecked the canopy & skids, there was no other damage so flew another pack just fine.

Haven't had the power light & Led flicker again or rather i haven't noticed it happening so, really not sure what was going on with that, maybe something with the on/off switch?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but is this the same issue you had and did it get resolved? Or anyone else seen this before?

The transmitter was switched off to one side of my desk when it suddenly made a couple of beeping noises then stated to do this. Had to remove the battery to stop it. I originally thought it was the battery as it had been in storage for a while and the battery was dead, so I charged the battery and it started doing this. I then bought a turnigy lipo transmitter pack and it did the same a couple of times, but only the orange light and for a few seconds before it stopped. Now it seems to be doing it constantly, but like I said, was sat on the side of my desk when it started, powered off.

              Hi,
Send your Tx to Horizon Hobby, its not worth the risk flying with it.
This was the exact issue with my own DX9, it was also making voice commands too which was a little spooky!
The same reason i replaced my battery with a Lipo too, i often found my battery was low volts not realising the Tx was switching itself on & off at random.
My Tx at HH whilst sat in their workshop switch itself on and did all the same issues, HH stated that the main board was faulty and could not get a replacement board within a reasonable time so, they sent me a new replacement DX9.
You can't beat the customer support from Horizon hobby.
              Rgds
              Kim.
