jr dsx 11 anyone updated theres to 0002-0001 ?

treated myself to a jr dsx11 over christmas and have been playing around with it

been reading on hf that you can upgrade it to dsmx but it needs to be sent off to be done just wondering if any one has done this and if you think its worth it ?
If so any one know the cost of this ?

And has any one updated to the new 0002-0001 firmware that adds some of the new xg11 features ? http://www.horizonhobby.com/pdf/JR_1...are_Update.pdf

and i noticed that in america they are all called the 11x but over here they are called the dsx11 is there any difference :S

The module from what I can see is about £250. But I did not look anymore into it just yet. Looking at Futaba radios first then will look at that as the next option for a possible move away from Spektrum.
The DSX11 is an awesome radio, plently of features and looks and feels quality.

I have not upgraded mine although I would check with McGregor that the DXS11 can take that upgrade as it only says the 11X and I would check first just in case

Afaik the dsx11 is not modular so you cant buy a module for it.

In the US you can send it off to JR to get it upgraded to DSMX but cant really see the point. Only real advantage is that with sats when using the fbl controller as a receiver dsm2 supports 7 channels dsmx sats 8.

ahh thanks wont bother with the dsmx then but i will give the new update a goo seen as i have not programmed and models yet and yesh i checked today if you go on the mcgregor site it says hows it for the dsx11 aswell

just updated it now and it was easy as and took about 5 mins only had a quick look but haven't noticed much difference menus seem abit different and so on but on the main model page there is one change i do like

where the old timer used to be they have made is so you can choose what you want on there but your are limited with it not having telemetry

Is there anything else that's new? Also is the problem with the timer fixed now where if you turn on the TX with the throttle in a high position so the warning thing comes on the timer works the opposite way?

I will probably update mine but don't want to set everything up again.

there are some other things but not sure what yet i know there isn't a lot for helis but a few features for planes i think

aslo my timer seems fine i want to set it up on my velocity using vbar and 2 dsmx sats what sat option do i pick in the vbar setup menu dsmx satellites 11 or 22mm or just normal spectrum satellites
