Looks to me, going by the second picture, like it's a 2.4GHz module, rather than native 2.4GHz.
      73

On a scale of 0 to 3D, about 1.53 and counting (backwards at the moment...). Getting there though, 0.1D at a time!

Doesnt look modular at the end of the short flash clip on the URL, 2.4GHz aerial is in the usual aerial place at the top. But it certainly looks like it in the short image at the start...

grabbed a screen dump of it:

Looks modular in this image though - very wierd...

I think it is modular - the reason it doesn't on the main pic is that the 2.4ghz aerial sits directly behind the 35mhz. There appears to be a cap over the 35mhz and the mounting is black so visually from the front it appears that the 2.4ghz is coming from the top. If my 14mz had a black 35mhz mount I would achieve the same look from the front.

I can't understand why JR are producing a brand new design radio that's modular I waited for the 10CG before taking the plunge as I didn't like the modular design of the 10C, this would certainly put me off buying the new JR TX.

Ah but a lot of plane flyers have big fleets and cannot afford such a stunning tranny and go 2.4ghz at the same time thats why you do modular sets for now.

I am not surprised about JR bringing the 11 channel one out and I expect to see either Spektrum or JR bring out an 8 channel set as well to be honest.

After all Futaba now have a full range out there.... the crappy 6exa -
The good 7cap -8FG/10C/12FG and that range is actually fully loaded.

But the new JR set looks stunning I have to admit but as someone else has said McGregor pricing will make it to expensive anyway...

Personally I wouldn't buy a Tx that wasn't modular, it adds an element of future proofing to the Tx since new technology is just a software update and new module away and when things go wrong it's much cheaper to replace a module than a whole Tx. It is essentially the same thing as an inbuilt design (no slower / different) but with the added bonus of being able to remove it.

Sorry Trev, but I think your find that there features an intergrated TX that you simply don't get with a modular TX.

My 12FG had a module and the software was programmed to view the module as 'integrated' so it actually made no difference whatsoever. Same as if you put a 35mhz module in it, you'd have to go on the internet, download the 35mhz software and then install it on the Tx, hey presto, a non-compromised 35mhz Tx. You can solder it in if you it makes you feel better .

Putting a module in a Tx without upgradable software you are entirely correct but these 'advanced' Tx's are designed to accept modules without any compromises as long as you install the correct software on it to accept that module.

Chaps, i can tell you that the symbol that looks like a sqaure 8 (nichi) to the right of the number in this context does actually mean 'day'. Makes me think it will be launched or at least the specs released in 4 days.
