  • Wireing a x bus Rx to spartan vortex

    Hi all I am wireing the Rx 712bx x bus Rx to my spartan I have got it to work now with 2 Rx packs but ,I was under the impression that it was a 1 three wire cable connection only am I right in thinking that I have to put the esc power lead to both units ( makeup a y lead ) thanks Richard

    Hey buddy.

    No you should be fine powering the DMSS Rx via the Xbus connection wire from Spartan to Rx.
    As you've ga there'd this single wire connection will take power from the Spartan to power the Rx.

    The Spartan is going to experience the highest current draw so having the ESC BEC wires going into it will be good, the positive and negative pins on the Xbus connector will then send power the Rx nicely.

      Hi Ian thanks the only way I get it to work is with a separate battery when you wire through the xbus port it doesn't power the Rx I must be missing something somewhere Thanks Richard

          Hey Buddy.

          Ah ok, that's interesting I'd assume like all other FBL units that power in on the Spartan would make it's way back through the Xbus link to the the Rx. However looking on the Spartan web site and the wiring diagrams, it appaears it may not be and you need to send power to the Rx as well;

          So looking at this, I think you may have to use a spare servo port to take power back to the DMSS receiver, all the vertically aligned servo ports share the same power bus for the positives and negatives, so any spare vertical port will do to connect to the Rx.
