  • XG 14 transmitter power expressed in Watts/mw

    Guys,

Any idea where I can find a document that states the transmission power from an XG 14 transmitter...... not getting very far and desperately need this urgently!

    Cheers,

    Gaz

With Futaba you normally you just get a certificate of compliance. Mine states that the device can be used in all EU countries. USA is different because they are allowed 1000 mw. I think EU is 100 mw. I don't know about the far east.

If you bought it in this country and are planning to use it abroad, perhaps you could contact the importer with the serial number and ask for a compliance certificate for which ever country you are going to.

As I understand it the US is allowed 200mW. The UK and Europe is 100mW for frequency hopping 2.4GHz transmitters. Or at least that's what my memory is telling me.

Reading that document the Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) is actually 4W (4000mW). This is a like for like comparison to the UK/Euro 100mW limit which is also measured in EIRP.

The 200mW I quoted was from memory the actual maximum used in RC transmitters (US spec Spektrum transmitters), however many for simplicity/consistency (including Futaba if memory serves) stick to the 100mW limit for all regions.
