  • DSX9 Replacement Pots

Just noticed my DSX9 radio has a dodgy elevator pot. all the servos move smoothly when I move the collective or aileron stick but when i move the elevator stick the servos are jerky. Tested the same on 2 helis.

I'm not quite ready to buy a new transmitter. Are the pots easy to replace? Where can I buy them from?

Give Horizon a call on Monday they may sell them to you, I bought switches from them for my old dx7 when I dropped it.

I took my radio apart and removed the faulty pot.. It was actually much easier than I thought. If i can buy a replacement then i could solder it up in about 5 mins. The pot has 116TW written on it. I can't find anything of that description in a Google search. Any electronics enthusiasts know if that is a standard component?

          Hey budsy.

I'd give Macgregors a call and ask if you can buy a potentiometer from them, that'll be easier.

Steve (xygax) may know where to get these also as he deals with electronics companies.

You could send the radio back to macgregors for an overhaul. I know it's not expensive on futaba so JR is probably cheaper still.
