XG14 Reviews??

I'm thinking about the above Tx but can't find much on the internet in the way of reviews or opinions. There isn't much on here either from what I can see.

Does anyone have any opinions on this transmitter ??

I have been a JR fan for a long time, but the DX7 caused me to stray to Spektrum. I have previously had a JR DX12 (currently also use a DX9 and 18MZ) . The stick assemblies on the XG14 are excellent and feel as good as I remember the 12. The case is the same as the XG8 and built to a price and nowhere near the quality of the DX12 (still the highest quality case ever produced). The case feels a little different in use, due the high taper at the bottom, but feels very comfortable. I have looked inside the case (to change the throw of the throttle stick) and it looked to be very neatly assembled.

Now that Xbus is available (I am currently using xbus with the Vbar and tested with MSH Brain) it allows a single line input to FBL systems, making wiring very clean (similar to Futaba Sbus). On a cosmetic side, I am not sure how long the chrome finish around the stick assemblies will continue to look good. The telemetry sensors also seem a little pricy , RX voltage is sent back by default, the only other one I have tried is the brushless RPM sensor , this only appears to work on ESCs with a built in BEC (works on Kontronik but would not work on a Castle).

A very nice radio for the price, if you get one, buy with the Xbus Rx (731bx).

Nige, are you sure you can use this with the MSH Brain??

It's the quality of the gimbals that will sell it to me I think, even more so if the Brain can be used. As for the case, well I am using a DX18QQ at the moment but would have liked the save metallic construction as the XG11.

This radio only works on jr system of dmss, I believe the brian works on dms2 dsmx

Hello,

I just received the specs from JR, I met them (Suzaki) at IRCHA and they proved to be super cooperative and friendly.

I can confirm Mode B is already compatible with the BRAIN using the SRXL settings, we will update the software graphics to indicate it.

They also sent me specifications to implement mode A, but they also told me they are still changing it a bit. Anyway, we probably don't need both modes.

The MSH brain doesn't support xbus ATM

it supports s-bus,dsm2/x ,Hott and std receiver

It maybe able to allocate chanels ??

I have only flown the vbar on the xbus, but tested it on one of the Brains and it worked.

Xbus and Brain discussed by one of the developers (Otatiaro) on helifreaks (search 'X-bus support' in the 'Brain' forum.

I swaped to a XG14 recently, I've been futaba for 18 years so the choice wasn't made lightly.
I tried loads of tx's and the only one that felt anywhere near as good as the XG14 was the 18mz but at 4 times the price there was no chance of me buying that.

As above the sticks feel excellent being full alloy. It's also super light weight so it's easy to hold.

If the Brain works on HOTT then the xbus will work, it's the same system.

PS, If you have big hands try one first, I have tiny hands and it fits my hands perfectly so it may be to small for some.

OK so I've got it working, in a manner of speaking.

Problem is all the channel allocations are different. So throttle in the tx operates the aileron on the brain.

Any ideas anyone?
