Depends on what it is for. There is still the use of the earphone socket to be enabled. Generally though they are not that often.

Read the PDF file and do exactly what it says. It works perfectly. If you have any trouble then you have not followed the procedure. For me the only minor thing is knowing which drive is the SD card slot on a multi card reader that displays 4 different drive letters. Ignore any Windows prompts regarding scanning, fixing or anything as the SD card will have the Futaba format on it.

This is just to bring the previously released radios up to the same version that will be released in the USA any moment now.

Good question, unfortunately Robbe have a bit of a reputation for publishing expectations rather than facts when it comes to unannounced Futaba material so I wouldn't be depending on any schedule coming out of Germany right now.
