  • futaba 10c

I have been offered a futaba 10c 60th anniversary transmitter by a member of my flying club
I was looking to buy a dx8 to use on a new nitro I am buying so I can also use it with my other spektrum helis but was advised that the futaba would work on a nitro a lot better than the spektrum and I would be better off buying the c10 and keeping my dx6i to fly my other blade stuff
does anyone have any advise for me as to which way to go and also what is a good price for the futaba
    thanks guys Lee

As a Futaba user myself I am bound to be biased.

If you already have models setup using Spektrum or JR and you already have a Spektrum or JR radio then unless you have had so much trouble you are fed up I cannot see any compeling reason to change to Futaba. It does not make sense to have to use and get used to two different systems. It makes more sense to get yourself the DX8 as that will meet your needs.

Now I don't want to ruin anyones chance to do a bit of business either but unless he is selling the 10C for very little money I would advise if you did want a Futaba radio to get the 8FG.

I would say having been involved in a wider range of flying models that the biggest advantages to be had by going Futaba are with Gliders - I don't really see any reason for going Futaba for helis; you could fly a nitro heli with a dx6i but probably not get the best out of it; now that the dx8 seems to be working OK it wouldn't be a bad choice!

If your already using spectrum I would go for the dx8, the futaba is better for nitro statement is a load of rubbish, I'm a futaba user myself but either one will do the job

The 10c is quite old now and you can not upgrade the software, so if you did decide to go with futaba then as said the 8fg would be the one I would recommend

sorry I am new to all this but with it being the 60th anniversary model does that make it a 10cg and not a 10c as I said earlier

Same here. another 8FG user and I'd be hard put at recommending anyone to buy a 10c right now, especially if you already have a significant Spektrum investment.

The 10c is a dead end, a good radio in its day, but it is not going to get any updates and has significant limitations with S.Bus flexibility so it really isn't something I'd recomend even if you did want to go Futaba.

As to being 'better for nitro than a DX8' that really just isn't supportable.
