    New Futaba 10C 2.4GHz Radio,
I had just about decided to get a JR PCX9 but now I think I have to consider another option. I didn't know there was another Futaba coming.

why would anyone buy that if the price is right? it's so close to the 12 it's a no brainer. for that to be truely viable it will need to be circa 550-600 imo.

      cheers

        I'm enjoying my 12FG

There's a £150ish price difference between that and the 12...I think that fits in about right?

I have mixed opinions, the FASST 2.4 system is fantastic, not had a single issue yet whereas with spektrum it all started to go wrong after 20 flights. The fact that it has G3 technology is a significant improvement also with the heli being incredibly accurate now giving me confidence to fly it lower. The 7 channel rx doesn't have G3 but still feels fairly respectable.

On the other side of the coin, I'm finding the software a pain in the neck, it's like the 9zap but slightly easier, meaning incredibly complex to find anything if something should go wrong in your setup. I still haven't worked out exactly if the expo is working or not, doesn't feel like it...

So hardware = awesome, software = over-complex but very functional

I have been waiting to buy a high end radio for almost three years,
I got a DX7 to tide me over till the 2.4GHz versions are out.
I might be tempted though if the urgonomics are right.
              See comparison with 12FG

It Kinda reminds me of my old FF8 super (which was spot on) but on steroids.

i have a 14mz fasst, altough i'm waiting on rx coming so i have not tried it yet. i have however seen a dx7, spekky pcm9x2, fast 9zap. the fasst had maybe half times more interaction/lag with fast pitch changes than either of the spektrum systems (hold paddle and watch the cage when changing pitch fast). if my 14mz does the same it is gone. when i get the new 2048 8ch rx i will know, so just waiting on ripmax getting them, meant to be the 5th of feb.

                cheers

with 14mz and spektrum, not 14mz and fasst.

                    cheers

OK I have a 14MZ but have not been using it as I put all my stuff on 2.4 using a DX7. I have been DIEING to get back to using my 14MZ and am waiting for Futaba FASST. BUT my local hobby shop (Rob's RC Hobbies in Garden Grove Ca) got in a Spektrum module for the 14MZ and he let me borrow it for some testing.

Below is my review video of this module and it's performance on a eCCPM heli.

Review of the Spektrum Module for the 14MZ (60 Megs)

In the end I will wait for Futaba's FASST system for my 14MZ as I didnt buy a $2K radio for degraded performance. The DX7 is better than a 14MZ with this module. My testing puts in just a bit better than a 9C in FM PPM mode though.

I think that was for the Spektrum Module running on the 14MZ, which has some issues. (Ah too slow!)

yep, running my 12FG on FASST 14ch there's no issues whatsoever. With the 7ch it was pretty much the same as the 9x2 with speccy module but felt smoother and more connected. Both are using cyclocks so I won't get any ccpm interactions and the 14ch rx is G3 2048 resolution.

Futaba have changed the servo's around so the CCPM servos get sent the input's at the same time.

Or at least thats how the new 12FG looked like
