New Spektrum VR6010 regulator

Seen the New AR9100 receiver and wondered what’s supposed to connect to the blue leads?
Seems like Spektrum have been busy again this time a Regulator with built in cooling fan, and you can use two of them!



I am thinking that perhaps this is overkill?

With two VR6010 regulators, AR9100 receiver & two separate Lipo’s my Trex450’s gonna be on the heavy side me thinks, still should lick the brown outs for good!

The blue leads on the new Rx are for connecting 2 li-po`s.
It is a power box system, 2 inputs regulated down to(I suspect) 5.1v(ish).
It will switch between the 2 lipo`s effectivly doulbling battery capacity but providing redundancy if 1 pack fails.
It also incorporates a soft switc, so if the switch fails it will fail in the open position to continue to supply power.

Not really that usefull for a heli.
More often used in large planks with multiple digi servos.
Jet flyers use them a lot also.

It is my understanding that a AR9100 does not have a regulator built in & supplies the input voltage to the servos. It would be of use to heli flyers as it has the most robust power system of the Spektrum receivers & has fast reboot.

Maybe not for a Trex450 though!
