  • Help Needed! TX acting strange, not centering.

Hi guys I've had this strange problem occur with my e-fly 100c tx. Its only a few months old and has developed some kind of fault. The easiest way to explain the prob is this.....

When pushing forward or backward on the right stick and then letting go the swashplate should re centre itself but for some reason its not. Let me explain more, while flying the sim on the pc, pushing forward on the right stick moves the heli forward but if I then stop pushing forward the heli carries on tilting forward til it goes inverted then carries on til upright and so on, if that makes sense? If you could imagine applying full forward trim so that the heli nose's down by itself thats kinda what its doing, then if I pull back it does the same the other way as if ive got full back trim. The stick is re-centering and the spring feels stiff enough! I can stop this motion by giving the stick a brisk flick by sliding my thumb off so it flicks back into place. Its not long been doing it and I have not dropped the tx or mis-treated it in any way. Ive tried cleaning with electrical switch cleaner but the problem still persists. Has anyone experienced this before or know of possible cause to this happening? i mean its only a cheap tx that comes with the century uk mini pred 3d so I dont expect quality but it used to work just fine. Ive bought a futaba ff6 t6x for my heli but I would like to get the e-fly 100c working properly again to use purely for my sim. Any suggestions guys?

    Thanks in advance

It sounds like something is wrong internally - I suggest contacting the place you bought it from with a view to getting it exchanged.

      robgt,

Thanks for the swift reply to my queries, I had thought of taking it back but wasnt sure how to go about explaining the problem to them as they are not the best of listeners to be honest. I will give them a call tomorrow and see what they say about it. Ive just got the futaba ff6 so if I do get a replacement I will be using it purely for simulator use. While on the subject of sims, do you know if the futaba ff6 can be connected to my computers mic-in socket like my e-fly 100c is? My ff6 has the 6 pin round connector where as the efly has a simple single pin audio style connector. Many thanks for the help.

        I wouldn't have thought so...
I haven't seen Tx's connected to the Mic-In socket before personally - obviously, it's feasible though.
Maybe there's a connector out there for this purpose - or instructions on how to make up your own?

The sims that I've used have all come with USB dongles.
        Cheers,

Yes it's possible, ive done it on my efly tx, using ppjoy and smartpropo I can use the tx as a standard windows joystick to use on any game. I'll have a look about but I think I'm gonna buy myself a copy of phoenix or reflex, which is better in your opinion? Once again thanks for the reply.

Pheonix is the best at 80 pounds for free updates/online flying and dloadable models it cannot be beaten really.

Reflex isn't worth the extra at all and the cheap version in mag covers is an older version that you cannot upgrade so don't be fooled by it.

            Works very very well
