I love my DX7, as I fly mostly electrics I reckon it has paid for itself several times over, as I don't get the glitch induced crashes that I used to.

I've had a DX7 from the off last July. Only had one problem and thats a power issue not a Spektrum issue. As has been posted elsewhere its a user issue rather than a technology one. Everyone know the Tx battery has to have a minimum charge level and not to go below it. Its the same with the Rx irrespective of tyhe technology.ONE Eddie Gold Star!

ill take my chanches with the spektrum "problems". id rather risk an unlikely reset than get plenty of glitching on my little electric 450se v2, or my knight 3d. Glitches are far more common than a spektrum rx reset, and as has been said, there is still plenty that you can do to minimise the risk.

I still use 35Mhz, I have never had any problems with the Knight and my old Trex 450 had a Hyperion receiver with was fine until I ploughed it into the ground.
I like my FF9, but am reluctant to try the 2.4 module yet.

I'm sticking with 2.4, never had an issue with it in flight. Only issues I've had are when switching on it sometimes doesn't lock in. Flying 35MHz feels like the servos are connected to the swash with elastic bands after flying 2.4.

I agree. Doesn't bind sometimes when tx is too close to rx. Having said that, T-Rex 450 felt like a different heli when I changed from 35 meg though - for the betterOriginally posted by trvo View Post...Only issues I've had are when switching on it sometimes doesn't lock in. Mine's not due to swamping, one of the inbuilt Rx's in the AR9000 I think is faulty...The other one in the same Rx locks instantly. Once it's locked it doesn't let go though...Sometimes I can get up to 50 power ons before the Rx fully binds and thats with me over 30 paces from the machine. The AR9000 in my 600n is fine though.Originally posted by Leebert View PostI agree. Doesn't bind sometimes when tx is too close to rx. That is exactly how it feels to most, even fliers of a much lower standard than you Trev can feel it!Flying 35MHz feels like the servos are connected to the swash with elastic bands after flying 2.4.Phil

My reason for changing to 2.4GHz is exactly the same as Moyesboy -- the 450 size electric forced me to. My T-Rex 450 SE V2 was unflyable on 35MHz (I tried practically everything with the antenna and got lockouts on every flight. Changed to a 6EX on FASST and in over 80 flights later not a single glitch, rock solid.)
My 600N and planes were all fine on 35MHz and I was perfectly happy with it, and wanted to wait for 2.4 to prove itself, but when I got a 6EX for my 450 I soon saw the benefit (small aerials on TX and RXs, no peg board, no chance of getting shot down etc.) so started to slowly migrate everthing over (3 helis and 3 planes -- now have all my 35MHz gear here in the classified section).
So unless you're getting lockout problems on 35MHz I'd stick with it. But if you decide to change you won't look back -- I can't wait to get the FF7 2.4GHz set (will finally get a timer back)

I mainly fly planks, and now have most of my fleet on 2.4 spektrum, i would never go back to 35 now, the connection speed of the 2.4 feels sweet very locked in and accurate, sure i flew 35mhz for years and years and it served me well but it never felt as locked in as 2.4.
My avatar shows my trust in 2.4

Up until recently I'd been using Spektrum for over 12 months with 6100's, 6200's, 7000's and a 9000. My Mini Titan with a 6100 fitted totally locked out and crashed. Checking it over on the bench at home, one of the aerials on the 6100 fell off in my hand and the other was hanging on by just a strand of copper or two. This is because the aerials are soldered directly to the circuit board with no strain relief, I've since re-soldered the aerials and used Zap-A-Dap-A-Goo on the circuit board and around the aerials where they pass through the plastic case, I've also done the same on an old 7000 receiver before they added a short length of tube to support the aerial.
I don't blame Spektrum for the failure, the aerials had been moved quite a bit in 12 months use but would suggest anyone with 6100 (and maybe 6100E) receivers to keep an eye on the security of the aerials.Steve H
