  • DX7 pitch adjustment

Well I thought I was doing the right thing going to 2.4 gig & the DX7 but I am wondering if I should just sell it on before it drives me mad.
I have always been a futaba man right up till the time Ade convinced me Multiplex was the way ahead so JR style programing is totaly foreign to me.
Luckily I didnt have to bind the rx to the tx as this was already done by the previous owner so I quickly set about pluging in the trex 450's servos into the AR7000.
I was a bit worried as to aileron elevator & Aux 1 servo positions but just configured these so that I got the correct movements on the swash then reversed to get left right for & aft & positive negative pitch with the correct stick movements.
So far so good till I wanted to set the pitch range for norm, ST1 & ST2 I can change points L through to point H but this has no effect on the pitch at all what am I missing here?
The swash mix is set to 120 deg I've upped all the movements to 100% from 60% but have no control over the pitch what so ever.
Anyone want to buy a DX7
I've even been using the manual & nothing makes sence.

ps got to go to work at 1.30pm so I cant reply till 10.30pm

Are you saying you are getting no pitch movement when moving stick up and down?

Is the TX in throttle hold?,,top left switch forward?

Hi chris I get pitch movement.
I just cant adjust that movement via the norm st1 st2 pitch curve screens.
      Does that make sence?
Top right switch is set to throttle hold i.e rudder duel rate switch.
& I've tried it in both positions as well as the flight mode swithc in several positions.

Ditto the above, infact I would put money on it. Its actually the top right switch pointing with the antenna. It needs to be pushed away from you to remove the hold feature. Also make sure the pitch curve is linear with 0 at the bottom and 100 at the top. If it reads 0,0,0,0,0 that will stop any pitch changes.

Off the top of my head i am baffled

You have pitch adjust screens for Norm,st1,st2 and Hold

When you go into the screen the right up/down switch toggle thru the 5 points that you can adjust its in initially at the low stick position

make sure both top switches are away from you, this is Normal flight mode

Then go into the Pitch curve screen for Norm and ensure its 0 25 50 75 100 for starters

The Tx has not to be in hold mode, so push that switch away and leave it ! There is actually another menu for the hold pitch, but leave it off for now.

Are you saying the servo's are changing pitch, but the different flight modes make no difference? Have you set up different curves in the other modes?

If you go in to the pitch curve on the dx7, when the model is on you should be able to see which pitch curve is in use.

Where it says what curve your adjusting you should see that name flashing if it is the current curve being used on the model.

Now use the flight mode switches on top top get the norm curve flashing and you should be good to go at adjusting the curve live.

I've found it on the swash mix screen theres a setting that says exp I read this as exponential & it was set to inhibit this actualy inhibits the pitch points on the pitch screens.
Thanks for your pointers guys, I may need some more input after 10.30 this evening when I carry on with the setup.
And Richie thanks for offer if your about tommorow morning & I get stuck can I phone?
