  • anyone recently bought a ar6200 off ebay?

as per title, I heard that some ar6200s work without the satellite plugged in.
the reason i ask is that i need a satelite for my ar7000 and a rx for a slope wing, so thought that buying a ar6200 should cover both bases.

so here is the problem, i have messaged numerous sellers on evil bay asking them if they know if their stock will work without the sat, and guess what, none of the barstewards have replied!! so if you have recently bought one, could you please test it for me and get back to us if it works!

as far as I'm aware they all work without, but range is reduced and chance of interference is increased

Yes it will work - I used to have one in my first 450 without a sat. Not sure on range though.

Why not go for an AR600? Same size, no sat, "full range".

I don't see why range should be reduced. The sensitivity of the rx should stay the same. There is a higher chance of losing signal in certain orientations as there is a higher chance of one rx being screened than two rxs being screened. I was very sure that my 6200 would not work without the satellite. As people have them working on their own I must have got it wrong, or they've changed something.
