Align 6A regulator

Hi Folks

Had my first three flights today after fitting an Align 6A regulator and 1900mAH Lipo to the Shuttle.

In a word.....SUPERB!!!

I have been looking for an increased number of flights when up the club and whilst the light beat me into submission the regulator never dropped from full charge.

The servos and Gyro worked hard in the wind but I have mounted the LED's so that I can see them during a quick tail in hover. Very reasuring

Since I made the battery a quick release job, all I now need is another small Lipo and I could fly all day.

Thanks to Nutz for the Lipo and Fast Lad's for the regulator.

Whole lot cost me about 20 quid with the 5.1 Volt step down.

They are rather bright

Non of the Trex boy's have compained about retina damage from their regulators though so I suppose they are okay

i tend to put about 900mah back in to the 1900mah lipo after 2 12 minute flights on my knight 3d. i never fly it more than 2 flights before recharging it. especially as it only take half hour to re-charge from there

Something to be aware of if using the Align 6 Amp regulator especially in Nitro's is the wiring can become brittle where it joins on to the circuit board and the placement of the micro switch means you constantly push against the wiring when switching it On/Off. (There has been several confirmed regulator failures due to this)

The answer to this is to add a good sized squirt of Glue from a Hot Glue Gun down each end between the Heatshrink/wiring and also ensure the wiring is supported each end.

Oherwise we have had well over 500 Flights using these regulators without issue..A cheap fix that may just save you a crash.

Mark, I think I have another one of those packs if you want it. Double them up into a 2s2p for a 3800mAh pack and fly all day. I have done this on my Knight with 1600mAh FP Lite packs

I think Align addressed the wiring defect on their new unit that I think is now sealed as well to be oil and water resistent.

As far as I am aware only the 2 in 1 version has been updated the standard 6 amp regulator remains the same. It's the standard 6 amp item I am refering to though..
