  • JR DSX9 2.4G Tx

Midland helis have a piece on the new 2.4 GHz replacement for the 9xii Tx on their website. They say it will be coming around Feb/March next year and will cost around £450.

    That's a lot of dosh!

Also, the US version - the XP9303 (I think) has an analogue slider trim on the throttle with digitals on the other 3 main channels. Those who fly planes as well as helis (like me) will really appreciate this hardware (which is currently available on the 10X Tx), but the UK version looks like it has a standard digital trim on the throttle. Why the difference in spec?

I would love the analogue throttle trim.

I like the digital throttle trim with ACT enabled in the menu - it remembers the trim position and shoots right back up with a single click...

    Cheers,

One of the issues with an anologue throttle trim is that you then have a TX which has a fixed mode, as the X9303. For some reason the market in the UK (and various other countries too) prefer a radio where you can select whichever mode you want, this may not seem a factor but until recently I flew fixed wing on mode 1 and helis on mode 2 so when I upgraded my heli TX I needed this feature to convert it for my planks.

There is a throttle cut feature on the 9X which is very useful on helis, doesn't it work with planes?

Yes the throttle cut works on planes, but the same switch is also the training switch in standard mode.

But with planes, it's nice to have complete and instant control of the throttle trim at all times.

I get around it on my 9xii by programming a throttle mix onto the right hand slider channel that's on the top side corner of the Tx, so that becomes my analogue throttle trim. It also means I can adjust it at will without taking my thumbs off of either of the sticks, but it's a fudged solution really.
