Alan my first radio was a Futaba 7c still have it and works flawlessly now coupled with a Futaba 8fg super
We bought a DX6i which is used to fly the mcpx only thats because it lost signal due to low battery power.
We had no warning of the low battery level only the mcpx dissapearing into a conifer tree,I am led to belive that specktrum gear is on the power hungry side so watch your battery level if you go specky. but apart from that its been ok.
But I will only use Futaba from now on.

Thank for your advice. I've actually taken delivery of a dx7s. It was on the advice of some friends who are fliers and I was told it would be a great starter radio which would do me for larger helis too.

I'm very much learning the way in this hobby, but I'm hoping the dx7 will do me for now.
