Nothing to think about just get a Futaba 8FG and enjoy it.
I have a DX8 and an 8FG and the Futaba 8FG leaves the DX8 standing.

Also I seem to recall it has some limitations when using S.Bus and needing to reorder channels.
Wow that was fast. I edited my post straight after posting it, but you still beat me

I owned a 8FG for 1 year and switched to a JR X9503 DSMX. No real problem with the Futaba, but cheap components, lack of tuning options for my wide hands (192 cm tall guy) and boring jog dial. Now I feel really comfortable with my well built, sweet geared, wide screened, easy to program and affordable JR radio.

It is a pity that DSMX on JR is not an option here in the UK, it would be a preferred choice for a lot of people I think.

Over the years I've had a Dx6i, Dx7, Dx7se, DX8 DSM2, DX8 DSMX and in the hundreds and hundreds of flights I've never had one single problem.....not one.

Maybe I shouldn't of said that

Are you using the BMFA for insurance? If so you might want to consider that the insurance may not cover you. The US transmitter wont be CE approved at a guess which would void your insurance. That's how I believe the insurance is worded anyway.

Not really a problem here in France. The law is evolving in a good way about band limitations.

Used Spektrum... dx6, dx7, and now the 8. Love the 8 and wouldn't change it.

This isn't about the old French limitations on the allowed 2.4 frequencies though, I'd have thought you had the same problems we do with using a transmitter that is not 'CE' marked?

DSX11 is what I would get.

I use a DSX9 MKII now and its works for me.

Just set up an XXtreme on a Futaba something, think it was a 12 and what a lot more faffing about damn. But I'm sure its fine once you get used to it but it has now put me off them as I have been tempted before to switch. Just my experience, nothing more

The only thing that would tempt me away from my 11x is the XG11 that's on its way

But then that means not using Sats on any FBL controllers.
