The most popular u rekon will be the DX7, but the new futaba 8fg is always going to be a winner espessially with the fbl menus!!!

The 8fg has to be one of the most flexible sets going, good for helis, powered planks and gliders (very good for gliders); gets my vote over anything else.

Worms, say good bye to the can, coz you aint getting back in...

The dX7 is probably the most used, but I personally will stick with Futaba.

Like above, it's deffinetly between futaba and spektrum.
Then The budget of the user and their preferred manufacturer. This will obviously help determin what set they buy. The futaba 8FG is very popular, but so is the spektrum dx6 and 7 and now that all the faults seem to have been sorted, I think the dx8 might become rather popular too. So I don't think there is a specific model that stands out on its own, it's just what your willing to pay and what you need it for.

I've heard a rumour that a staunch futaba flier will be using a dx8 next year

as for most popular? I would guess at the dx7 being the most common

The DX7 is the most common radio I see being used, and by a long way.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.
