  • DX7 Stick positions

I have a mode 2 DX7. On the left stick, the marks to help with stick position on the Tx don't match up with the actual output I should be getting. It's not far out, but it's just annoying.

When I have the stick against the centre mark for zero pitch, and I look at the the pitch curve screens, with a straight line pich curve of 0,25,50,75,100, I'm getting an input of about 46, which gives about 1 degree of negative pitch. I have to move the stick beyond the marker to get 50 and hence zero pitch.

Is this normal? Can I adjust the graduation marks on the DX7 so that they line up correctly?

    Thanks
    Rich J

Are the marks out of line, or is the stick actually in centre when it lines up with the mark and the Tx is out?

I believe this is something in the secret menus that can be twiddled with - warning, at your own risk - I seem to recall seeing a thread on rcgroups about the maintenance menu on the DX7 and something about being able to "reset" the pots if they go out slightly.

Could be way off the mark here of course and the lines have been "stuck on" wonky

      Cheers,

        Thanks Rob

Marks line up with centre stick position, but this giver input of about 45 to 46. Pain in the bum when settin up the heli.

          I imagine so, yeah

I don't and won't advocate doing this, but here's a link which may help.
Me personally, I'd send it back and get it done professionally - I ain't no profeshnil

You could try setting zero deg at stick centre and then set pitch in swash menu to zero and see if you've still got zero on the blades..

Or...put stick to centre and check on servo position screen

It may be that the pitch curve menu is reading wrong...

My 50% was above the middle mark so I just compensated with the pitch curves. I set the middle of the pitch curve to 46 to get an output of 50 at the middle mark.

                    Was it easy to do?

I don't want to screw up the radio. Can you give me a step by step account?

                    Thanks

Following from above website by a user called Vantasstic
                          "
It's kind of odd to get into. Here's my steps:
Ensure the Aileron D/R switch is in the UP position.
Press and hold the DOWN and SELECT buttons and turn on radio. Now you're in the setup menu.
Scroll up/down until you get to the screen that says [Model Reset]
Press the Adjust Descrease button (r/h side of LCD)
Flip the Aileron D/R switch down
                          Press the Adjust Increase button
Flip the Aileron D/R switch up
                          Press the Adjust Descrease button
Keep alternating this Aileron D/Rup/down and Adjust Increase/Decrease sequence (about 5 cycles as Hilgert said)
The radio will 'beep' and the LCD will go dark. This is the LCD test.
Scroll Up/Down (left side of LCD screen) through the Service Menu (at your own risk)"

                          This is my advice below
once youve done that you get a "black screen"
"scroll" until you get to "stick center" then center your sticks then press teh "clear" button you should have seen teh "ST3" numbers / letters change.
tehn "scroll" to the "all settings ok ?" and press the "clear" button then go to your pitch curve settings page and check that at mid stick you get the "IN" to display 50

all of teh above worked for me but please only do this if you are aware of the risks

I now get 50 at mid stick, but I'm getting 2 at low stick and 98 at high. Did this happen to you?
