    Are DX7's Mode changeable. ? DIY

    I managed to change modes on my Pootaba 6EXH

      No, you can't. the chip is program to either mode 1 or 2. There is a sticker on the chip inside the set defining this.

        mode 1 has to be special ordered, virtually no one stocks them

          Phil Green Models has a couple left, but as Ashley said no one stocks them. Took me ages to find one

            Im actually going to spend all winter learning mode 2.

            but wanted to know if i get one now as mode 1
            so i can fly till its too cold then change it over after.

              good luck with that, I changed flying planks from mode 1 to mode 2 in feb. ive always been mode 2 heli though, that I should imagine will be harder, so good luck

                I manged to change over the stick mode with my DX7 in a fashion! I got the Mode 1 set with throttle right ect, but fly mode 3! ie with rudder/tail on the throttle stick and cyclic on the left, all I did was change over the wires from each stick unit and thats it! the only difference is that when this is done the trim for rudder will be on the opposite stick same thing with the aileron trim, easily remembered.

                Just need a steady hand when soldering the pot wires.

                I have since sold my DX7 but it was totally reliable like this, I now have a 9x with the JR DX module.
