  • RX nicd battery to lipo?

Hi, im wanting to try and do away with using nicads and the only one left is the one i use on my elyq vision 50.

Ive been doin some reading and think i know what i need but just wanted to confirm.

    1 x 2s lipo 2000mah upwards?
    1 x voltage reg/bec to bring down to 6v?

Next question... is all the gear im using on my vision (spektrum RX, futaba digital servos on cyclic, gy401 and digi 9254 servo on tail) will be fine at 6v? (as currently there 4.8v from nicad?)

Also, any recommendation on a bec to use?

    Thanks
    Andy

The list you've compiled looks fine,
The Rx & Cyclic servos will be fine at 6 volts but the 9254 is only safe at 4.8/5 volts so you'll need a step down or a regulator that has a second output for this purpose. The ElyQ has dual output so the Rx & tail servo are run a 5 volts while the cyclics can be ran at a voltage of your choice.

    Hope that helps.

I use this regulator on a 2S 2200mah lipo,it can be adjusted to exactly 5V.
Works great on my 50 nitro heli.

Thats great and as you say will do the job but it doesn't allow you to exploit the abillity to speed up you cyclic servos with a little more voltage
