no i use a beastx on the velo 50 and once i went over to the heli i did not think i just turned the radio off and did not check the telem out

Kel, did'nt Gareth (Gareth-71), do an elaborate research into the subject of taking HH to the courts, in regards to this Tx concern? Might just help if you guys discussed this together, right..

I would not use it Kel. It's just too much of a risk and I am sure it would be at the back of your mind. If there was nothing wrong with your unit why have they replaced it for new? They've now covered their ass. I would send them an invoice for the repair bill of your Velo .50. It's got to be worth a try surely?

Was this with the AR8000 rather than just satellite into the Beast?

well i just recieved an email from HH

We do not normally offer compensation for lost models as all equipment is used at the owners risk. We found no fault with the radio which was returned to us, however if you could supply an information pack fully detailing the incident which led up to the crash as well as supplying pictures of the damage and receipts for any items claimed for we will look into the situation for you. We would need to know everything including the receiver used, all electronics, distance and direction of the model when control was lost, approximate height, direction transmitter antenna was pointing, flying site, weather conditions etc.

You can respond to this email address with your full report, pictures and copies of receipts if you wish and we will gladly look into the situation for you.

i wonder how many companies take this stance that all goods is used at my own risk !!! blimey im not sure i want to fly helis any more seems there is no liability on the manufactures to take responsability of their products !!

I am pretty sure Sales of Goods act and trading standards would have something to say about this stance. I guess jump through their hoops and see what happens. Sounds like they are already looking for a way out of giving you anything though.

Doesn't actually seem like a bad reply as it does leave the door open for them to provide some help.

They are saying 'no fault found' so not the same as suggesting it is at your own risk even when faulty, but I would certainly take them up on this and give the required details and see where it goes.

That does seem like a more positive response than you'd get form 90% of other manufacturers/distributors. Putting aside whether or not the DX8 is a problematic radio, when was the last time you heard of another company even entertaining the thought that they might pay the cost of damages incurred in a crash?

When I first saw this functionality I thought it won't be long before its used as a claim for a model loss. I wonder if thats why it doent log Vbar software faults

i would
strip the heli down and take photo's as you go along
list and photo all of the damaged items
get a written quote from the model shop you use for the parts, include any club discounts you get
send it off to hh with the info they've asked for
and see what they say

Sorry to hear about your heli,kel....you have posted a get out of jail card for HH as you are using beast x.if your not using a genuine spektrum rx they will just say as much.

HH will not compensate,if they did that they would go bankrupt in no time as they would then be expected to compensate every crash from then on.
