8FG question

While my 12fg gets sorted (could be a while with intermittent issues) I'm using an 8FG

On all other tx's I've used it's been possible to program the throttle and pitch curves of the HOLD condition..and i can't see a way of doing it here apart from setting a single throttle value.
Obviously I could re-assign/use idle3 which I have inhibited anyway..but wonder if I'm missing something?

You can program any curve you want on the hold. Its on page 4 of the pitch settings and on the throttle settings.

You need to activate the hold mode first and assign a switch to it.

Let me know if you can't find it and I'll post back detailed instructions

That is weird..it's there as one would expect now.. and blessed if I could find it there earlier..must have been having brain f@rts - not as if it's that different from the 12 or my old 7..ho hum.. so long as its sorted, thanks

edit... it is on the pitch curve ..but still hunting to mod the throttle curve of hold. The reason is that if one can mod it then one can use it to act as a cut irrespective of stick position as opposed to the cut function which only cuts at low stic...if that makes sense. In other words I like to use my 3 pos right switch as no-effect, throttle hold/tickover with last position for an emergency thottle cut....on the 12fg the hold function seems separate from the hold throttle curve function.

I'm making a mess of explaining this...

I'll finagle a way around it using idle 3 for my purpose then hold as the cut

i use the bottom right switch for thottle cut, the one that is a sprung switch, hold i use the small one above that and u cant hit the cut unless yuour out of idle up so dont worry

You can set the cut to activate at any point - hold can be set by priority and normally is set above Normal, so your priority flight mode would be HOLD, Normal,Idleup1,Idelup2,Idelup3

My throttle cut switch is only active if the throttle is below 15%. Hold is always active and takes priority over any other flight mode.

Don't forget you can also set delays for flight mode change to avoid the jump in servo positions. EG if flicking into HOLD you can set delay to reduce engine speed over 1.5 Seconds and lessen the risk of it cutting out. You can do the same with Cyclic.

Yeah I do understand all that..but I like to have an emergency cut irrespective of throttle position....various ways of doing it..just not as easy as on the 12FG

Set cut throttle position in the throttle cut menu to 100% it will then cut no matter what.

On the 8FG you'd have to use IDLE3, but remember to set the priority so Idle 3 has priority over hold the 12FG had a second menu on the hold (One for hold / tick-over and the next page for hold / cut.

Arghh Paul's correct - You can set the pitch curve on hold but not the throttle curve - sorry my mistake !!! Don't know what I was looking at last night but it was obviously wrong
