Gents got myself an 8FG but had to take a fine file to the throttle rachet to make it silky smooth for Heli flying.

I have read that there is some sort of white cap to cover the throttle ratchet, but this is only availabe in the USA?? Can this be found in the UK?

What did you do to get your throttle rachet smooth?????

With trial and error I kept changing the shape of flat metal spring until it went smooth. When I first fitted it, it was smooth until I got to full negative and then there was a notchy feel.

You did get the smooth spring in the box and have changed it out with the acro spring fitted to the TX I assume?

put the smooth 1 on, have a bit of a notch at the bottom but it doesnt bother me, you could always put some fuel tube over it thatll make it nice

User the wife's nail file to smooth mine off.

Didn't get a spare in the box but didn't need it anyway.

Why do they have a ratchet anyway? I fly both planes and helicopters and find them both much better with a smooth throttle
I just don't see the need for a Ratchet on the throttle?

I used pliers to straighten out the kink.
