  • DX6i audio warning amplification ?

The timer audio beeper is too quite for my old lugs. Anyone know of a mod to amplify this. I had a few hover practices in my garden this afternoon and the proximity of the 450 drowned out the "down" beep every time. I've overshot a few times in the past, once by two minutes ( that's concentration for you ). Didn't do me lipos any favours either I may add, only 12 % left in one of the new Zippies I have. Bugger ! And before anyone suggests it I'm not going to hang an alarm clock round me neck .

I asked my son the same question about a year ago....his reply was "Dad your telling me you cant hear that"? So the best mod in my mind for us 'older' pilots is...hearing aids. I paid privately for mine but wow! Turns out they are a mod for everything lol, tv, stereo etc. Only down side is I cant use the excuse "I cant hear you" anymore with the wife now...oh well

you should be able to set a low voltage mode in your esc. this will either make the tail wag or cut to half power this will stop you over discharging your bats.

Great idea Terry, but they will amplify the heli noise as well Y /N ? And expensive too.
Brin I get enough tail waggle trying to hover as it is ta very much.

I had the same problem I added a lipo monitor to the battery balance connector, is very loud can hear my 600 a long way away, in fact its a bit worrying first time you hear it, a bit like in the films when the choppers going down.

Thanks for that llessur, ( Russell ? ) Looks like it could be one solution for saving the lipos, out of stock unfortunately. I'd still like to be able to vary my flight time alarm settings to suit different flight patterns, lipo capacities etc. So ideally said device would have to be T/X governed..

The lipo alarm will suit whatever flight you partake in, as it constantly measures you battery it'll only sound at a preset marker so regardless of size/mah etc whether you hover it or throw it about it'll always tell you when to come down.

I have one on my Blade but I hardwired it into the ESC so I don't have to faff with balance leads.
              Nik.

              Before you ask:

              About 2 miles
              Over £500
              Very difficult
              Over 80mph
NO, you can't have a go

Don't forget the 'Search' and 'Thanks' buttons.

Ha Ha it will only wag when your voltage drops to whatever you have set it.
