  • Few Q's about the DX7

Can you only set the throttle failsafe position when binding? At the moment, if I switch off the Tx before the RX, the throttle on the heli moves to full throttle. Not good if I lose comms to the Heli! I need to change it to a low throttle instead.

Also, on the main screen, while you're flying, what is the top bar representing? Seems not to move? Left, right and two bottom ones are trims. But what's the top long one?

I charged the box with my charge lead on my Pro Peak. The battery seems to get pretty hot. Is that normal?

Yep, you can only change the failsafe settings when you are binding, which is a bit of a pain in my opinion

The horizontal bar across the top is a graphical representation of the battery voltage.

      Thanks Russ!
No fly below the little middle marker? Also, any sites with tips and tricks? It would be nice to get to the screen that shows all the servo positions, without having to click the two left buttons, then search for the screen I am looking for.
No display change buttons when you're not in the menus?

dont know what voltage the marker equals Craig but you do get a low voltage warning bleep at about 10 volts

I just spun my Trex up, hopig to get a hover, but hell, it seems VERY twitchy now. So, EXP. Am I right in saying that NEGATIVE Expo on say, the rudder, would deaden it out a bit?

Mmm... I am noticing since I am using the DX7, I am ever MORE twitchy in Phoenix! Does phoenix take the EXPO setting from the TX, or do you need to change something on the model?

Negative EXP increases sensitivity around middle stick on JR. It is the other way round on Futaba (Neg EXP decreases sensitivity around middle stick)

The DX7 is the same as the JR, to decrease sensitivity around the centre you would need to have a +ve exp value.

Thanks guys! I think that will fix why my TREX tried to mimic a mosquito on drugs. Thanks! Too windy to try it now though.

Oh, next question. On the Trex, once I land, I usually hit a LOCK button that allows me to put the throttle up, without the blades spinning up. Saftey.

Is this not possible on the DX7? A throttle lock button?

                      Yes you can,

The top right switch does that funtion, but you will need to enable throttle hold in the TX funtion menus.

I guess not related to th DX7, but, I'm setting my pitch and throttle curves. Do these look OK?

OK, thanks guys, for the HOLD info. I can set it to keep the throttle at low idle? That's good. But then the other function I am missing is a throttle cut button. Is there a way I can maybe assign GEAR or something to cut the throttle?

You can use throttle hold to hold the engine at idle for IC engines or to hold the motor in the off positions for electric motors.

One of the things I miss with Futarbor is the throttle cut. With the DX7 you have to use the throttle trim to cut the engine.
