Third tank on the 700 this morning and as usual it starts to spool up, governor kicks in..then headspeed drops as it lifts off!
I flicked to idle up wondering if the gov magnets had dropped out and the idle down curve was dodgy...headspeed picked up nicely, punted around carefully for a while and plenty power as usual through some safe flips... but back to idle down and headspeed dropped alarmingly. OK so poor curves idle down...what the hey..were up, we'll fly..
It was a good tankful..even finsihed off with three high autos and two of those crosswind but had to spool the takeoffs with a flick to idle up rather than my usual takoff in normal mode.
End of the tank and I do a careful visual.. both magnets in the bell, sesnor location correct..?gov itself died or power plug out? No..looks OK..
Now I hadn't touched, it, don't know how it's happened but on my 12FG the normal mode gov is now switched to off... and it must have changed itself during that initial spool-up..????
