  • Question about timer/switch setting on Dx6i

Hiya the collective intelligence and knowledge

On my Dx6i, I have the timer set to the trainer spring switch.

Now, on occasions I forget to start the timer until just after lift-off (I'm getting better at remembering though!).

My question is, with the heli up in the air, will flicking the trainer switch do anything other than start the timer (assuming no other controller plugged into mine). I tested by assigning throttle hold to start the timer, and that still performed it's throttle hold function (I didn't have heli up, just spun up to low RPM on the ground) as well as control the timer. I haven't had chance to test the trainer switch, but my feeling is that if it's assigned to a specific task (ie start timer) it shouldn't matter if I flick it whilst heli is up (rather than have to land, spin down, flick switch and take off again).

    Thanks in advance.

Operating the trainer switch to start/stop the timer does just that, and has no affect on the heli whatsoever
