  • Auto's using a dx8 and hold switch

    Hello.
I want to start learning auto's using my trex 600le. I'm using the new 8 channel rx set up as follows. CH1 Throttle,Ch2 Aile,Ch3 Elev, Ch4 Rudd, Ch5 gyro gain, Aux 1 Pitch, Aux 2 Gov and aux 3 switch glo using the knob. I have hold pitch curve as a linear curve and throttle hold at 10% across which should leave the heli in tick over. The throttle cut is assigned to the trainer button at -5% and works fine. So what should I be doing? I have seen other's doing auto's and they flick the hold switch, heli goes to tick over and they land(or crash). Should I not use throttle cut and assign that to hold and put figure at 10% which would put heli in tick over but is that correct? Would I then have to use the trim on throttle to kill the engine? Any help would be great.
    Thanks.

What you could do is set the idle a bit higher so you still have some power to learn with then ease it off as you get better. Also change the pitch curve on hold so you have about - 3 to 4 at bottom stick that way the heli should glide down nicely
