  • Should I stay with my DSX9?

    Hi Guys,

Been away from RC helis for a while but I couldnt resist getting my TREX 600N out the other day (even though its never been flown) and now i'm hooked again.

I have a dilema now, should I keep my JR/Macgregor DSX9 or should I sell it and buy a DX8? Is the quality of the DX8 as good as the DSX9?

    Nick

I would stay with the DSX9 for a while longer, But all depends on how you feel, and the need to upgrade.

The dx9 is a lovely radio. I'm not sold on the looks of the 8. I take it you are on 35?? You could always add the 2.4 module to you existing radio and then you will have a dx9 sort of
      Trex 250 se, DFC, 3GX.
      Trex 500 esp, FBL, Beastx.
      Trex 600 nsp, DFC, Beastx.
      Compas 7HV, 120HV YEP, SK3 560, HV MKS, VBAR.
      Squall (less 1 wing).
      DSX9.

Personally i'd just stick a 2'4ghz module on & keep it. No point in selling & buying if it ain't needed. You wont fly your 600 any better either with more bells & whistles.

          Hi Guys,

Thanks for your replies, Sorry I made a typo, my DSX9 is a 2.4 gig radio, I love the feel of the radio, it feels alot nicer quality than my old DX7 I had with my Trex 500, but I am a sucker for gadgets when something new comes out.

In that case i'd say NOOOOOO!!. look at the thread with range issues. Also the DX8i is an ugly duckling imo

I'm not completely sold on the DX8, hearing that there are a few initial gremlins to be sorted out. Think I'll be sticking with my DX7 for a little while longer yet, and if I had a DSX9 there's no way I'd be dumping it for an 8!!

Take the time to go and hold a DX8 before you decide, I rather doubt you'll want to swap once you compare them directly.

Thanks for the thoughts guys, after reading your comments I think i'll stick with my DSX9, its always nice to hear people confirm that the DSX9 is a great radio, you very rarely hear of any problems with them. Just waiting for my Align starter to arrive and I can finally get my Trex 600NP in the air (hopefully).
