I was not happy with my tests on Sunday on using the range test mode at 30 paces with the telemetry enabled, it was showing lots of frame loss, I rebound my DSX12 to the model and flew as normal.
Today I did a direct comparison with my DSX12 using a flight log. The test machine was my Trex 600 with an AR9000 rx that I have been flying with my DSX12 for at least a year. It was sat on a picnic table side on, the aerial on both transmitters was in the same position.
First at 25 paces with the DX8 in range test mode
Fades A 27 B 18 R 45
Frame losses 209!!
Holds 0
With the DSX12 at 25 paces with range test button pressed.
Fades A 32 B 11 R 45
Frame losses 0
Holds 0
With the DX8 at full power and walking away as far as our field would allow.
Fades A 0 B 55 R 5
Frame Losses 3
Hold 0
Does not give me much confidence in the DX8. I wonder if the power output of the two transmitters are different in range test mode?
Anyone done a similar check?
