  • Dx8 saves a crash :)

    It works this telemetry thing
When setting up my model I noticed thanks to the Dx8 that the voltage of the regulator was not staying at 6 volts.
It was putting out 5.8 so was happy that was OK but when moving the servos the voltages dropped

The Dx8 alarmed to tell me

I have traced the problem tonight to the regulator and now stays good.

sure that with out the telemetry I wouldn't of noticed.

thanks to the people that replied to my last post

    What regulator are you using?

What was the problem that caused the voltage to drop and what did it drop to?

    What servos are you using?

      I am only using a Align 2 in 1

The voltage was dropping to 4.8 volts when moving pitch
      So when moving 3 servos

New regulator which I just took out my 700 kit and it's only drops to 5.6 from 5.8 volts.

FWIW, the flightech 8A in my N9 shows zero drop, even when loading the servo's by hand. 6.1v constant

On this occasion the regulator has gone bad but in general I expect the Align regulator works pretty well. Its problem is in the use of the single thin lead to the RX. If you could add a second lead from the regulator board so the load was carried on two leads it would work better.

You are always going to see a higher voltage drop using this regulator against something like the flight tech because that regulator has two leads feeding the power to the rx.
