Since i have upgrade to the last two versions of firmware i have been unable to assign the gear switch throttle hold. On the pervious version i was able to assign gyro to throttle hold which for some reason was the gear switch. Since i updated to the latest firmware versions this has not been the case. When you assign gyro to hold it now uses the gyro switch on the front of the radio. There is no option for gear under the hold setting. If i look at a old model that was setup prior to these firmware versions i am still able to use the gear switch as a hold switch and under the hold menu it now appers as mix. If look at the other options on the list MIX then disappers.

Hope this makes sense to everybody. Has any body been able to get there hold switches to work and also to work on newly setup models since these new firmware releases.

Ok I just received my DX8 today and I also want to have hold on the gear switch. I'm running firmware 1.04 and I have managed to get the TX to recognise HOLD as the gear switch with the following settings:

      - all Switch Select to Inh

      - Flight Mode: GOV (although this one is not relevant, I have tried it with rudder d/r, elev d/r, flap gyro and they all work.)

      - Hold: Gyro

In the gyro menu I have - INHIBIT

When in throttle or pitch curve menus or on the main screen it still recognises the gear switch as hold regardless of which switch is set for flight mode.

Is 1.04 the latest firmware or are there new updates?

      Adam.

        There's 2.0 and 2.01.

IIRC, 2.0 was equivalent to 1.04 - but with DSMX support. 2.01 fixed some bugs in 2.0, but also added some minor new features to do with the Mix switch.

1.04 can still be downloaded, as some DX8s need to be upgraded by HH before they can take 2.xx.

NB, 1.04 may not read model files written by 2.01. (You can workaround this by reloading 1.04, then saving the models to SD).

That aside, I don't think there's a reason not to go to 2.01
