  • AR7100R Revlimit Question

I've just finished installing one of these in the N5, but having read the manual, it states that 100% atv is 17340rpm. I want a max rpm of 17750rpm, so do i just increase the atv a bit more, or is 17340 the max it can limit to (i wouldn't have thought so!).

    Cheers,
    Jamie

    I guess if 17340 is 100% then 1% is 173.4.

    102% should give 17686.8 theoretically.

    Not sure though.

        HI Jamie,

I have the AR7100R on my N5 and Aurora, and i think from memory that i have the RevLimit set to about 75% on the N5 at the moment but i've not tach'd it so dont know what its doing but will try and get it done at the weekend.
        Thanks!

Flew 3 tanks through the N5 today with the newly fitted 7100r. Initial impressions? Very very good. BLS451's on 8v = insane cyclic and pitch response, i love it. The revlimiter works very well so far, although perhaps I need to revisit the calibration, maybe i missed a step as i set 2 limits to start with. 16000rpm and approx 17750-18000rpm. The lower limit which should have resulted in a headspeed of 1900rpm, wasnt! It was much closer to what I would have wanted out of the higher headspeed, so need to tach it to find out. Either way, I'm loving it, especially the clutter and hassle free installation!

In have used AR7100R's and like you found the limiter works well, I must admit to not being brave enough to run a flatline 100% throttle curve though I set a curve up without the limiter switched on and then added about 5% to it.
I made the mistake of forgetting the cylics are straight through and run my spare 600 with S9252 servos on 8V for about 6 months

              Hi Jamie,

Managed to remember to take the tacho this weekend and tached the N5, running at just over 2000rpm on the head and that is running about 83% on the ATV for the RevLimit. and that is running at 100% flatline in idle 1.

I know Matt Boto's runs his N5 at 2150rpm so i know there is more available, it does seem to like the higher headspeed aswell.

I'm also running 64% on the swashmix for Ail/Ele, pitch is around 50% and the cyclics and pitch are just nuts!!

I'm that impressed with the N5 i'm considering getting another!!

If you are looking for an head speed of around 1750rpm then the ATV value should be around 67%

i'll get some pictures of the layout of my N5 aswell Rob, the AR7100R does make for a very tidy and clutter free installation. I also like the fact that there is less connections so therefore less things to go wrong.
                      Thanks!
