i havnt decided yet. i dont do any park flying at the moment and the club has good frequency control. so the chances of getting shot down arent that great.

the gains you get from the modules isnt that incredible. gonna spend the money on fuel i think :-)

at least until the market has settled down and we know the pros and cons of them all.

then i might get the futaba or JR 12 channel tx

Please feel free to vote even though you already own gear. I should have had a 'None, I'm gonna stick with 35Mhz options, though ;(

JR gets my vote, I love my PCM9XII and couple it with proven Spektrum DSM2 technology and its a winner imho.

Ok i voted Spektrum, theres nothing at all wrong with 35mhz and in fact the more people that got 2.4 the better it will be for the 35mhz fliers

I think the best plan is just to upgrade to whichever makers Tx you want when you are due for a new Tx,dont see the point of the modules now,you will get better results and more options with a dedicated 2.4ghz Tx

From what ive seen on other forums the spektrum gear is jr or is it the jr gear thats spektrum anyway the rx,s are exactly the same except for the colour,
and the dx7 is based on a jr radio set,
I voted spektrum as im already using the dx7 and sold all my futaba gear off,
but id be happy buying Jr or Spectrum
cant see me going back to futaba maybe they have just made the biggest marketing mistake of there life time, Only time will tell i suppose

Agreed,Spektrums and JR`s systems being 100% compatible can only be good news for all of us who use it

Its an interesting option, however, for those like me who invested in a Futaba 14MZ I'll be waiting for the 2.4ghz module update rather than changing manufacturers. To much money invested in the set and changing just for 2.4ghz wouldn't be a good idea.
                    Cheers

at the moment waiting till futaba system is out and tested fully.
then decide which way to go

at the mo my 9chp is doing its job and i dont get any interference,
plus there will be less users on 35mhz.
dont think i will buy a module, but im waiting for a 9 or 10 ch futaba to run up against the pcm9xxx, it will happen as thats the bread and butter market

Futaba servos and gyros are compatible with JR and Spektrum

The good thing is that Spektrums and JR`s receivers and Tx`s are also compatible so you can use a Spektrum Rx and a JR 2.4ghz Tx

                          Futaba wont do this

The engine will get you going at least, any fuel will do,Magnum,Wildcat,Model Technics Techpower, etc

You dont need a high Nitro content for beginning,10% i would say is maximum
