I use a 14mz and have never yet suffered a glitch on any heli since changing. Not even the dragonus with all that carbon is seeing any glitching.

I suspect in time the 2.4ghz will be favoured. However, I'm quite happy with what I have at present other than battery time being a pain.

ah, now switching from a 14mz is a totally different argument.....there's some big investment there.

I have to say I'm still somewhat confused. As a total noob with a shiny new rappy 50 to build i need to make a decision on radio gear. If i am buying everything from scratch I guess i would be as well to go straight for 2.4? Having said that am I correct in thinking that i my instructor would also need a spektrum tx in order to buddy box or doesnt it work like that?

          Any help appreciated

If you're buying new radio gear, buy 2.4ghz - 35mhz will become obsolete...

I believe you can buddy box between JR and Spektrum radios.
            Cheers,

yes, JR and Spectrum will work together in a buddy system....although I think functions such as disabling channels for the pupil doesnt work, but nothing to cry over!

Yes starting out get the 2.4Ghz DX7 which has all you need for a niro heli for a fair while.
Meanwhile the "experts" are waiting for the DX9 to come out so they can get the high end functions like more than 5
                point pich and throttle curves.
The alternative would be to find a local club member who is getting rid of his 35Mhz, and buy that used gear. However as people are only slowly repacing all their receivers there is so far a trickle rater than a flood of high end 35Mhz gear being sold. I think when the DX9 comes out then gettign a realy nice used JR/Futaba high end 35Mhz tx/rx will be quite attractive.
I'm at an underpopulated flying field in the middle of nowhere by the way!
Currently interested in a 7-9 ch Futaba PCM1024 rx if one is going cheap?

I noticed the 1500mAh pack in my Spekrum last around 3 times longer than the larger (2600mAh) pack in my FF9.

Also has the modules to turn your 35MHz TX into 2.4GHz been CE tested? if not you will be breaking the law and your BMFA insurance will be invalid.

They MUST be tested/CE approved with the TX you are using them with, if they have been CE tested by them self’s then this is no good.

Refer to the last section on page 19 in the current BMFA handbook!

Why do people need more than 5 point pitch curves nowadays

                        0 25 50 75 100 works pretty good for me
