Anybody know of any reason not to run this combination? I need a new receiver but want to buy this incase i get a new Tx at some point later on.

Yeah you should be fine Craig. I think it will just run on 22ms frame rate until paired with a DX7SE

I currently run a 7600 in my 500, and I only have a DX6i, while it does not use the full capabilities of the Rx, it works fine.Trex 500 - CC450 - Blade mSR - Blade mCX - DX6i - Phoenix

I did exactly the same thing. But I ended up getting an 8FG instead of a DX7se and sending my 2 7600s off to ebay (one of them is still there if you're interested). I would have put them on here but I didn't have enough posts to qualify for the 'For Sale' section.
They worked ok with the DX6i.Life's a bitch and then you fly!!
