  • Cheap Chinese 2.4ghz

Has anyone tried these? Ebay item No.110411123201.
I thought it might be worth a try unless anyone can confirm that they are junk.

It looks like it has a telescopic Ariel 2.4Ghz transmitters don't have these. I would not risk it tbh.

For that sort of money you could almost get a second hand DX6i and receiver and access to HHs great customer support.

I know which route I would go

Or if your budget is really tight, you could try one of these from Giant Cod..... Giantcod 2.4ghz 6-Channel Mode2 Digital Transmitter Heli Version
.......But the Dx6i would most defiantly be my first recommendation as well.

I already have a Futaba 2.4GHZ 6 channel kit, but am building a helicopter gunship with working pneumatic guns and need extra channels for the gun controls. Can't afford UK sourced 9 channel radio kits.

I dont think I would be happy to trust any of my helis on an unproven radio system let alone a blinged out scale model. If it does fail it could be costly.

If it were me I would run 6 channel and not connect up the guns etc. Then save for a DX7 or a DX8 when it comes out (also DX7 second hand may drop in price when DX8 comes out).
How many channels do you need btw.

Alternatively I would sell the futaba gear and buy a said DX7/ DX8 and keep all my helis on the same radio system.

If you look at the detail pictures you can see that it has a 2.4 module in the back without the antenna attached, it's to the left in the second picture.

Having said all that I still agree with the other here and suggest that a Spektrum would be better in the long run. There may also be a problem with the legallity of this particular 2.4 system in the UK. I understand that not all 2.4's are the same.

Been doing some more research and found this review.

Fly Sky FS-TH9X 9Ch Transmitter | Heli Reviews

I shall be looking at sources of the various badged versions and shall definitely try one in the near future.

I am only concerned about functionality as insurance and legal issues are irrelevant to my proposed use. The pneumatic guns that I am making may well be illegal in UK anyway.

it's called save up - what you do is put money away for the vital item

Don't put a helicopter at risk by using cheap unknowns.

thats like flying a 90 machine on 3001 servo's not exactly a bright thing to do...

BMFA Website and ebay are place's where bargins can be had of course, but then learn to avoid the cheap junk as well....

"a TX without a british standard mark on it "
Lets all vote UKIP so this statement can become true
...its the CE mark, and I wouldn't be suprised if the chinese cheapie had one on it anyway - they stick them everywhere

Not like the good old British imperial kite mark of the past

how about getting a cheap old 35Nhz tx and rx and running all the remote controlled pipe, slippers and rocking chair stuff on that - get a mate to operate them all with the extra tx while you concentrate on the flying. On a real heli the pilot doesn't operate all this extra stuff, he just flies the thing doesn't he?

So, your planning on spending £100's? on this scale heli with working guns, that im sure will be very nice.

If you use the cheap radio gear on this heli and the radio gear fails, you would have completely demolished £100's into the ground.

Why not just build your nice scale heli and then buy some nice advanced radio gear, like the DX6i or DX7, then you'll be certain that the radio gear will not fail...Happy flying.

Dont going buying cheap crap just because you want the heli in the air as soon as possible.
