  • DX7 charging and Gyro setting. Help

Hi, Just got a new DX7, have had futaba in the past so a few questions need answering.
1 As I have no dedicated charger, will my old futaba charger be ok to use (have heard of blown fuses) or is there an addaptor cable to charge battery out of TX with my imaxB6.

2 Have set up one heli but cannot activate my gear switch to change gyro from HH to Normal mode, have watched finless vids and still no joy, am I missing something obvious. I have a CSM gyro and need to toggle the switch to set it up. ( input select gear set to gyro ) ( gyro sens set to Auto rate 72%).
    All the best STEVE.

Hi Steve you will need to get a JR type charger as the pos & neg are reversed on spectrum and jr and are not compatible with Futaba . You could also just get a JR / Spectrum chargelead and use your main charger B6 , that is what i did . Hope this helps mate . Rob .

For the Gyro set the gear switch to gear then this will let the switch toggle. Also you cannot use the Futaba chager as the polarity is reveresed so unfortunatley you will need a suitable charger, a JR one should do it.

Agreed with p4ddy, set gear to gear then use the [travel adjust] menu to set the gain. 72% sounds ok, usually CSM gyros have a little more gain than that.

The switch assignment, setting gearto gear are on the menue where you change the model memory in use. Switch on with the buttons held down, access the relevant model, then there are more pages there and you will find the swash type and switch assignments.

If you don't have your futaba anymore chop the plug off and connect the wires reversed. If you still have your futaba then get a JR lead for your B6.

              Hi Steve,

If you need a charge lead to use with your charger I have a spare you can have..

As the guys mentioned I have my gyro gain setup on the atv of the gear channel.. If you're still having trouble setting it up, I'll ring you when I get home..
