I'll would wait and see - things seem to be happening fast .
Bought a Spectrum last year - well there cheap enough - so I'll play with that for a while and see what happens with Futaba.

G-Dave, I was very close to getting one last month, I have a 7 & 9cap alomg with over 10 PCM Rx's so a wait is in order I feel for me. Two at the club have the Spectrum system that I know about and are very happy !!

I am very pleased about this, they do a JR one and a Futaba one so Spektrum is going to make it big in the RC industry

I own and love a DX7 and because of this i am not interested in a module,i recently sold my 10s because it was getting old

I am glad Spektrum have taken this route

£150 for a module. Bit steep I think

                  Needs to be more £80

Think you'll find it's gonna be around £150 for a module and an Rx which makes it a lot more sensible

I would say, if I was Mr Futaba, (I wish ) I would think of all the TX's I have sold that can have new modules fitted and would sell those at the same time maybe as a new setup. If Futaba or JR they want us to go buy the new Tx route they must know they would loose some of us along the way to other makers!

They only thing I see is missing from this system will be model match. That is a nice to have system but not a show stopper. We have all started a model to find we have the wrong one selected on the Tx !

For some of us with a TX under a year old say, this system must be worth thinking about. Prices in the Uk would have to be keen or you can get a DX7 say and have backup, some models on the 35mhz system, others on 2.4ghz and buy new Rx's as and when you can afford them.

As Spectrum is made by JR I wonder if this is JR's release??

dunno, but likely that they had something to do with the design any hoo..

Of course, the ultimate would be that the Futaba 2.4G system was compatible with the Spektrum one... Then we could buy the spektrum module now, and have the choice of receivers later.

Was that a pig I saw flying past the window?????
