I was in my local model shop today and the Ripmax rep was in, so I quizzed him about 2.4G Futaba gear.

The low down is as follows:

The 6A and 6H sets are going to be re-released as a 6P set with some other upgrades shortly.
There will be a modules for the old FF7, FF8 and FF9 and matching receivers expected to ship in July/August time.
There will be modules for the 12 and 14 at a later date.

The current 2.4G Futaba Module for the car set is £99 - expect the air set modules to be around the same price, and the 7,8 and 9 channel receivers to be about the same price as an equivalent PCM Rx.

        Thats what he said anyhow!

We have also been discussing the problem of CE approval on sets with mixed manufacturers parts, ie does a CE marked Futaba Tx with a CE marked Spektrum RF Module still carry CE approval?

Interesting point should an insurance claim be necessary...

Fine except my newest type FF7 doesn't have a plug in module!
There is a separate RF board inside though.
however ff7 tx from inwoods=£99, so probably a FF7 2.4G tx and rx would be not much more than a module and rx anyway.
The advantage of the module is you can swap back to 35mhz for your less valuable models and still use your old receivers, and not need to carry loads of Txs and keep them all charged up.

            Interesting info there mate.

Looks like a long wait for the stuff to be available though.
