  • Antenna woes (Turbo Antenna)

I have been flying for a couple of months with a Turbo aerial which has been fine up untill last night when it snapped in half after managing to dislocate itself from it's heatshrink.

So I am looking to see if there is an alternative before I buy a new one.

Anyone know of anything similar that is available? and where from ?

    Thanks in advance

*edit* seen two over on MidlandH..

    JRC466 : FLEXIBLE ACTIVE AERIAL 35 £24

    Base loaded Aerials £19

The "Base Loaded" one looks a bit more robust.

Just one more thing to go wrong.

Stick with the standard wire aerial from the Rx.

      Check this thread out
      http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/showth...highlight=base

If you look at my posts there further on down the page you can find insructions to actually make one yourself for virtually nothing - so why pay shop prices for bling when you can get the satisfaction of making something yourself ....and save the pennies for another time

There's also this debate / stuff on the same subject

        Thanks Dave.

I have been running this Turbo jobbie for a few months with no problems with glitching (never had *any* glitches on the Trex!). The Trex was flying ok on Monday night after the antenna fell apart and only the base coil was attached. I range checked it when it fell off and it was a good 25m, i.e. the full length of the gym I was in. No good for being outside hence why I am after replacing.

I'll take a look at the links Dave has provided.

        Cheers all
